The ‘Canes have predictably started the 2017 Super Rugby season with a bang (or should that be a boom boom). They’ve racked up 154 points and scored 24 tries in two games against the hapless Sunwolves and Rebels.
If you had the foresight to stockpile Hurricanes you’re probably sitting pretty in your league right now. But darker days may be ahead, and you might be wise to think about selling high on high flyers like Ngani Laumape and Vince Aso. The Hurricanes next 3 rounds are against the Chiefs away, the Highlanders at home, followed by a bye. Hurricanes players currently occupy 6 of the top 13 places in terms of scoring to date this season, but they are very unlikely to maintain this following a pretty soft start to the season. While it is hard to let high scoring players go, if you can get value you just might be advised to sell high on some of your Hurricanes right now, especially if you can buy low on some slow starters like Israel Dagg and Israel Folau who will come right over the course of the full season.
